benjamini
Hi. I've got an old MDS-PC3 and I'm wondering if it is supported by SonicStage 3.2. I would really like to find a fast way to transfer recorded media off my MD's to my PC.thanx
Christopher
Welcome to the forums. You won't be able to transfer media off of MD/LP discs with that unit and Sonicstage 3.2, as NetMD cannot upload in this sense, only Hi-MD can.Furthermore, Sonicstage may not be able to immediately communicate with your device with the native "Personal Audio Drivers" (they come with Sonicstage). You may need to install the drivers for the PC3 first, and then install Sonicstage.
The Low Volta
You won't be able to transfer media off of MD/LP discs with that unit and Sonicstage 3.2, as NetMD cannot upload in this sense, only Hi-MD canjust to avoid any problems later on... even with a HiMD and SS3.2 you won't be able to upload those recordings faster than realtime. Only recordings made in the HiMD formats (HiSP/HiLP) or PCM can be uploaded through USByou can always use the analogue (or even optical if you have a deck with optical out and PC with optical in) way of transfering the recordings to PC, but that's it... Christopher
Good thing to mention, Volta; my inital reply may have lead him to believe otherwise. You can learn more about real-time uploading here:http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070
zerodB
The MDS-PC3 will not function with SonicStage as your unit is not NetMD/Hi-MD/OpenMG compliant by any means.I'm afraid you have to stick with the software & drivers supplied with your unit (M-Crew). Christopher
Doh! Even better point, Zero! Yes, it looks like the only way to transfer music to and from the PC3 is either via the Analog or Digital out..
